BookSneeze Review: Unsinkable (The Abby Sunderland Story)

Did anyone else read up on the multiple teenagers who attempted distance sailing in the last few years? I feel like it was all over the news for a while. Anyways, this story documents the preparations and voyage of Abby Sunderland who attempted to circumnavigate the globe unaccompanied. It also describes her family’s faith and the challenges they faced in choosing to allow her to take this trip alone.
I enjoyed reading it, although it was a bit slow and would be perfectly appropriate for younger teens to read. Really interesting to learn about what it takes to get a boat ready for that type of trip, and I didn’t realize before how technical this type of sailing is…it gave me a new respect for teens who decide to do something like this.
